Just finished my first successful Vincent ride in 3 weeks.
A really long story that can be condensed to Lucas, Prince of Darkness
vs my Sharper Image Intelligent Battery Maintenance System. Lucas 1,

So blah blah blah, angst and heartache, I finally get to the point
that I'm charging the battery (a journey that led through the front
brakes and speedo cable- don't ask). My Sharper Image Intelligent
Battery Maintenance System with it's multiple setting and 3 rows of
idiot lights says the battery is charged and turns itself off.
My little battery hydrometer with the 3 balls only shows one floating
ball in each cell which means low charge, but SIIBMS says the battery
is charged so it's done, it turns itself off and won't charge the
battery enough to start the bike.
I go get my old battery charger, no settings other than the 6/12 volt
switch and I charge that 6-volt battery for 4 more hours until I have
2 balls floating and I'm down the road. Stupid intelligence.
