As we begin our swing through the Southeast, we want to thank Jack for an incredible ten-show run last month. Those of you who were there know how cool it was. Jack is going out now with Hot Tuna and will be back with us in August.

Tonight and for the next few months, Moonalice will revert to its bass-ful format, with Pete, GE, Chubby, and Barry taking turns laying down the low tones. The four bass-kateers have a lot of lows bottled up inside, so look for major fireworks!

that was so cool to see Jack with the band in Milwaukee at Shank Hall. I hadn't
been to that venue since a Hot Tuna show there 10 year earlier with Pete too.
I'm glad to hear Jack made all those gigs. so who is the best bass player in Moonalice when Jack ain't around?

Pete, GE, Chubby and Barry. Check out the 3-1-08 show from Santa Cruz on the Music page. It's a Moonalice 6 show.

Sorry if this image is a bit too large... I was playing around, trying to figure out how to post images. If you click IMG (see codes below the smiley face emoticons) it will prompt you for a url to the image. Although, it seems the image has to be on the web and not on your harddrive.

    Jokerman,

Blue already knows how to play. The reason she hasn't played yet is that she doesn't want to show up the rest of us. (She wrote the book on bass; the rest of us are still reading it.)

I think we should make Blue the permanent bass player when Yggdrassil is not
there. I know she is the best one in the band, although Chubby I was
impressed with your style at the House of Crave(ie where the pic is from). So
what do we have to do again to get Blue to play? Get Barry to sing?

For the images, just put them up somewhere on the net. Then as itisikate
explained click on IMG, then paste your uri, then click IMG again. That's it.

    something here....

I'm sure Dr Blue has written a few books and published many a scholarly paper.
It'll probably take you guys a while to finish that book on the bass and in the meantime you get lots of stage practice. Once all you guys are up to speed...
    Let the girl play bass!!!

I think you folks need to work up a version of Big Bottom by Spinal Tap so you can all play bass at the same time on a tune

Or is there some kind of legal limit to the # of Bass guitars that can play simultaneously??

RE: "Or is there some kind of legal limit to the # of Bass guitars that can play simultaneously??"

Apparently not. At the Ranch a few years ago, Jack had his Master class (about eight bass players) play "Water Song" all together.
    It sounded pretty cool.

I was so happy to catch Jack on bass in August at Don Quixote's. I love his lower lip almost as much as his flawless, solid playing. At the risk of being redundant, PLEASE come back to Santa Cruz soon.

Whatever else you do, never say never.

Last September at FPR's Pick 'n' Putt Weekend, Jack had the whole class playing the bass parts to "I Wish You Would." The A-frame was a-rumblin'. Some of us were able to cop the bass parts, but no one could get the eyebrow thing right.

Tuna was wonderful last night in Denver. Jack was amazing as always, and playing his Allessandro amp and signature Aguilar cabinet, in case the gearheads among us needed to know... And Loudon Wainwright was extremely entertaining as well. Tuna never disappoints!

A couple of years ago, Jack's class performed "Water Song" on Sunday.
    It was a hoot.
