The new bio pic is a shocker - VERY sad that it looks like G.E. is out , he was the reason I first saw Moonalice.

Yea I am curious as well. I've been watching this "band" since the FOB days and Barry is the master at the lead in my humble opinion... Wish the band would come back this way so we can enjoy the quintet...

Here's the deal . . .
GE is no longer with us. I don't know if this is a short term thing or a long term thing. The choice was ours. The first straw was GE's decision not to play the Virginia Beach gig. The conversations that followed led the rest of us to conclude that we needed to move forward on our own. Perhaps this is what bands mean when they talk about "musical differences."
GE is our dear friend and we wish him well. Who knows what the future will bring relative to GE, but relative to Moonalice you can expect the band to be hyper energized. The gig in Virginia Beach blew our minds. The gig on Saturday night in San Francisco was magical. The upcoming gigs should bring more of the same.
We recognize that change is not always easy for fans, but we ask you to give us the benefit of the doubt. We are on a mission here and this change positions us to really go for it.
Take care,
Chubby

Chubby,
Thanks for setting the record straight. I will say that the first time I saw the Flying Other Brothers in 2006 it was because my wife saw an ad in a San Francisco free paper that FOBs were playing an evening show at Union Square. GE's name caught her eye.
Anyway, I heard the recording of the Virginia Beach show and the band definitely has a different sound. Any chance we might hear the San Francisco show you mentioned soon?

Assuming Timmy brings the CD to Friday's show in Nevada, I should be able to do a Twittercast either on Saturday or Sunday of the show from Great American Music Hall. It was pure magic.

very cool can't wait to hear it...the Jewish Mother show was great so this one can only be better

Well, that's too bad from this fan's point of view... But sh*t happens, and you have my benefit of doubt. Keep on keepin' on! Can't wait to see the hyper energized band, if you ever get to the Denver area again.

Tim is da man!!! Looking forward to the twittercast...

Thanks for the info Chubby - I was at the Va. Beach show w/o G.E.(and the one with him) so I know the band is in very good hands with just Barrie. I will miss G.E.'s input but still love the band.

Hey Roger,
I hope this finds you happy and healthy since the last time we saw each other in Oregon. I'm sorry to hear that G.E. is no longer in the lineup. Things definitely DO change. We're still plodding along here with It's a Beautiful Day. Having said that, should you ever need a sub for some gigs.....

Dear All,
This is one of those things that happens in life. GE is our friend. He wants to play with us. In time, that may be possible. I hope so.

Chubby,
Thanks for the Twittercast over the weekend of the Great American Music Hall show. I have been listening to it all day today and really like it. I especially liked how "On the Road" went right into "Stella" - an excellent transition.
Hope to hear more recent shows soon - like the recent Crystal Bay Casino and Broadway Club in Fairfax shows.

Dear Rock Classics,
You can depend on it! I expect to get the CDs from Timmy on Friday at the Sebastopol show. I'll Twittercast at least one of the shows over the weekend. I will get them all to you by the end of January. (We won't be on the road for the first six weeks of the year, so I need to hold some shows in reserve!!!)
The band will be different without GE, but the audiences so far have really dug it. We do, too.
Thanks for being a fan!

I thought the jams at the Crystal Bay were way more intense than in past shows.
I wonder if that was planned or just the way playing just evolves.
Would love hearing your thoughts Chubby
Words are not enough for saying thanks to all involved.

Sad that GE is gone but the tribe will survive so "roll and flame" and let the healing music begin again. We will all still gather at sacred Skippers to hear the enchanting rythm of the tribe.
