My girlfriend Leslie and I drove 30 miles through the California coastal mountain range to the beach town of Santa Cruz tonight to see a photo show by Barbette Moonalice (it said Barb Gerry at the door).
It was upstairs in a sorta spa/hair salon, kind of fancy, part of an organized Friday Art Night in the community. The guy behind counter made me nervous, looking at my head, probably wondering if he could charge me by the inch if he cut it.
Barbette had photos from trips to China and Croatia. Every once in a while I can take a picture that doesn't cut someone's head off, but her photos have awesome composition, very vibrant colors.
I gave her a few Moonalice posters, and made her a deal in trade. If she ever attends a Moonalice show and doesn't see me there, she has to get me a poster.
Even if I never get anything in trade from Barbette, I was very happy to turn her on to the posters because of the way she supports and promotes the band. I've been on this forum for over a year, I'm up to 30 messages. Barbette writes a lot more, and not just here. Every time (3 or 4 times, at least) that I've seen an on-line article about Moonalice that allows reader comments, Barbette has a post there, always positive, always promoting the band and inviting everyone to attend shows. Yeah Barbette!
As far as all of the rest of you, I think the same deal I have with Barbette should apply. If you go to a Moonalice show and you don't see me there, get me a poster!
